There are many life altering impacts that are caused by this health issue, one of the most common is blood pooling or clotting, the main reason why so many diabetics have such poor blood circulation. This problem most commonly occurs in the feet. This is common sense, gravity will naturally pull blood towards the lower extremities. In this article we will discuss how a simple, fairly inexpensive product, diabetic socks, can help improve your chances at avoiding certain diabetes related health problems.

Because of the lack of proper blood flow, many diabetics will begin to develop blood pooling in their feet. This can lead to many serious health problems. Blood clots are likely to occur when blood is trapped in a certain part of the body for a prolonged period of time. This clot can be passed through the body to a vital organ such as the heart or brain, causing heart attack or stroke. Although you may feel that that particular health hazard is the worst that could happen and you would be right, having a heart attack or a stroke is a life threatening problem, but is not the only thing that can occur due to poor circulation and blood pooling.

Many times a diabetic will develop sores and lesions on their feet. These wounds will often go unnoticed as diabetics tend to have damage to their nerves, another side effect of their lack of circulation. This nerve damage will prevent the diabetic from noticing the problem that has occurred. This wound may seem trivial but can easily become infected, which could quite possibly lead to a blood infection or even amputation.

Although many diabetes related health issues are unavoidable, there are a few things that you can do to help promote healthy blood flow from your feet back into your body. Diabetic socks are made to slightly constrict the blood vessels that deliver blood to your feet while allowing the blood to easily return to the body. Dr scholls diabetic socks are a perfect example of a simple product that is not very costly and can considerably help promote increased circulation.

As you can see, even though there is not a cure for this terrible disease, there are a few simple ways that you can help avoid certain complications that are associated with it.

If you are wondering where you can get you hands on some dr scholls diabetic socks, it isn't very hard. The trick is to get a set that is not only reasonably priced but also of good quality. There is one simple solution that will not only help you to find the best pair of diabetic socks, but also at the best price. Amazon.com is an online retailer that provides just about any type of goods that you can imagine. Anything from clothing to computer games, Amazon has it all.

If you decide to buy from this company you will not only be able to purchase goods directly from their warehouse but also from third party vendors. This will allow you to compare prices and be able to get the best bargains. Another interesting perk of shopping at Amazon.com is that they allow their customers to leave reviews on products. This will allow you to find a high quality product based on the reviews that customers have left.

All together I think that you will see that if you are looking for a great pair of dr scholls diabetic socks, Amazon is the place to shop.

Choosing Shoes For Diabetics

Although this blog essentially revolves around diabetic socks, there is only so much that can be said about them. Sure you can do a few reviews, like Dr. Scholl's Diabetic Socks, and trust me I plan on doing more of them, but there is only so much information that you can provide on such a small topic. This is why today we are going to branch off and talk about something else that relates to diabetic foot issues. Aside from diabetic socks, those of you out there who have developed foot problems due to this disease may want to take a look at shoes for diabetics. We will go over a few facts about diabetic shoes and how they may help you steer clear of certain foot related health issues that are all so common with diabetics. Many of these benefits are quite similar to those you would gain from the use of diabetic socks and some are quite different.

For example, there are certain reasons why it is common for a diabetic to have problems with their lower limbs, mostly due to blood flow issues. Whether there isn't enough blood circulating to keep the muscles and flesh properly oxygenated or blood pooling, a problem that occurs when there is too much blood in a certain part of the body, in this case the feet. It stands to reason that diabetic shoes would help to resolve these issues, just like a pair of diabetic socks would. The difference lies mostly in the way the products are made. Obviously a pair of shoes aren't made the same way that socks are and vice versa. This means that diabetic shoes will need to accommodate the needs of diabetics in a different way. The other difference you will notice will be in the price. If diabetic socks are slightly more expensive than regular cotton socks, you be can sure that shoes for diabetics will be more expensive than an average pair of shoes. Are these diabetic shoes worth a little extra money? Well, only you can answer that question. All I can do is provide a few facts about these products and allow you to make your own choice. I will tell you that, as long as you buy from a reputable manufacturer, that these are high quality shoes and will aid diabetic related foot problems, just about as much as a pair of shoes can.

OK, lets start off with a few details. What exactly are shoes for diabetics? What separates this type of product from a regular old pair of shoes or sneakers? What makes diabetic shoes worth spending that extra hard earned money? As I said before, you will need to make up your own mind about shoes for diabetics. What I will say is, before you can truly understand why diabetic shoes can be beneficial to those with this severe health issue, you should first know why there are so many foot related problems that are associated with diabetes and what causes them. Earlier in this article I stated that, with diabetics, there are two main that relate to the feet, either to an over abundance of blood or a lack of blood, both of which are caused by poor circulation. These problems can lead to blood pooling, sores, and even amputation. What makes this even worse is that due to the poor blood flow, there will often be nerve damage in the feet. This means that the person may not even be able to feel any pain in their limbs, allowing the problem to worsen unnoticed. Why do diabetics have such poor blood circulation? Peripheral Vascular Disease. Peripheral Vascular Disease causes the arteries in the lower extremities to narrow which prohibits the proper amount of oxygenated blood to reach the lower legs and feet. Because the complications of the disease are so terrible, it makes sense to be a bit proactive about preventing them.

There you have it, the reason why diabetics are so prone to severe foot problems, but how does this relate to shoes for diabetics? Shoes for diabetics are specifically made to reduce the risk of foot injury. This is accomplished in two different ways. There are shoes that are made with a deeper, wider and softer lining and shoes that are custom made. Diabetic depth shoes are generically made for anyone's foot. There built in a way that deters friction and other common causes of foot injury in diabetics. Custom shoes on the other hand are specifically made for your feet. They will mold to your feet perfectly and make it much less likely for you to irritate your feet. Which one of these shoes is better? In my personal opinion the custom diabetic shoe will not only feel much more comfortable but also work much better as a diabetic shoe. What do I mean by this? A shoe that is molded to your own foot will obviously feel much more comfortable. It's not only the comfort factor but also the fact that there will be less chance of injury because the product was built just for you and is specifically shaped to your feet. What is the down side to a custom pair of diabetic shoes? The price of course, if your are going to have a pair of shoes custom made, you will have to pay quite a bit extra for them. Diabetic depth shoes will still help you to avoid diabetic related foot problems much more successfully than a generic pair of shoes but not as well as a pair of custom shoes. On the other hand depth shoes will be considerably cheaper than their counter parts. So you see you now have two choices to make. You now have to make the choice on whether or not you will buy a pair of shoes for diabetics and if you do choose to, you will need to decide on what kind you want.

I can now assume that you are well informed about exactly what a pair of diabetic shoes are and the two different types of diabetic shoes that are available to you. You also know why these shoes could be helpful to you if you suffer from diabetes. We have discussed why diabetics are so prone to these types of foot problems and how dangerous they can be. This is all of the information that I can provide to you. It is now time to move on to the second part of this article, a few examples of some diabetic shoes.

This information was found on Google. The shopping part of the site allows you to search for products by user reviews. This makes separating the good products from the bad much easier. It comes in especially handy when dealing with an unfamiliar product such as diabetic shoes. I will list the top four diabetic shoes listed and their price but you can try this yourself to get even more results.

Apex Aetrex Mens Performance Walker - $97

What makes this shoe stand out from the crowd? I discuss all aspects of these types of diabetic footwear. I have decided to try and help diabetics in other ways. I will be posting various articles that may help diabetics gain information on a variety of topics that effect them on a daily basis.

One of the hardest things for someone who is suffering with diabetes to deal with is food. As a diabetic you have to constantly watch what you are eating. You need to be vigilant, constantly aware of food and how it will effect you. The slightest alteration to your diet can have dire consequences. It may be hard to find foods that taste good and won't harm you or effect your diabetes. This holds especially true for sweets and deserts. The key to being able to eat tasty foods as a diabetic is to remember that you should eat these sweets in moderation. So today I am writing this article with a lighter, and certainly tastier, twist.

Aside from certain, store bought, baked goods it is hard to come by diabetic friendly snack foods. It is important to eat healthy but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to treat yourself to a tasty snack every once and awhile. It may be healthier, and certainly tastier, to make a diabetic friendly desert yourself. Store bought diabetic food can taste awful, this is because they can not use sugars to mask the bland flavor of this mass produced garbage.

Today, I will be sharing a special treat with you, a homemade diabetic cheesecake recipe. So enough talk, lets get started.

First you should preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

We will start with the crust. You will need 2 tablespoons of melted light margarine and 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs. Mix the crumbs and margarine together and press them into the bottom of a pre-greased 9inch baking pan.

The next thing that you will need to make is the filling. You will need 24 ounces of soft, light cream cheese, ¼ cup of granulated sugar, ¾ cup of egg substitute, and two tablespoons of flour.

Now you will need to mix the sugar, flour and cream cheese together until the mixture becomes “fluffy”. Then slowly add the egg substitute and beat the mixture until everything is well mixed. Pour the mixture into the baking pan and onto the crust. Cover the pan loosely with some aluminum foil and bake the diabetic cheesecake for 60 to 70 minutes at 350 degrees.

Once the cheesecake is finished let it cool or refrigerate, depending on your preference.

This diabetic cheesecake recipe is a refreshing desert for those of you who are diabetic but looking for a small temporary change in their diet. Again, it is very important, for diabetics, to indulge in this type of food in extreme moderation. Remember this is a very healthy and diabetic friendly cheesecake recipe but it does contain sugar and other carbohydrates. It is important for diabetics to monitor their blood sugar to make sure that they do not spike or drop to unsafe levels.

I hope you enjoy your diabetic cheesecake recipe and check back often as I may be adding a few other diabetic recipes mixed in with all the informative articles.

Diabetic Socks, Should You Buy Them?

If you have come across this site then I can only assume that you have a dew unanswered questions about diabetic socks. Perhaps you are looking to see exactly what type of diabetic sock is the best. No matter what information you are looking for about these helpful little diabetic health tools, I assure you that by the end of this article, all your questions will be answered. In this blog post we will be learning what exactly diabetic socks are, who could benefit from using these socks, where to find the best diabetic socks, how to find the right pair of socks to suit your needs, if you indeed could benefit from diabetic socks and how much will you really need to spend on them if you decide that they are right for you. After reading this post, you can be sure that you will be confident in making a educated decision on any aspect of these unique diabetic products and all of the topics listed above will be addressed in detail. After reading this article if you still have some unanswered questions regarding diabetic socks, please feel free to contact me using the link at the top of this site.

First off, lets start with a good explanation of exactly what diabetic socks are. To really understand why you, as a diabetic, can benefit from regularly using diabetic socks, you must first understand exactly what they are and how they work. What makes a diabetic sock better then a regular old fashioned sock? What makes them so beneficial to diabetics and how exactly can they help with foot related diabetic issues? Basically, why should you spend the extra money on them? The basic definition or best way to describe a diabetic sock is a sock that is specifically designed for sufferers of diabetes. This essentially means that these socks are made to help with foot related problems that are most common with diabetics. What are some traits of diabetic socks that you may find beneficial? These socks are made to absorb moisture. The material used to make these socks are specially designed to be much less likely to wrinkle. Diabetic socks are also made without seams, for comfort and added health benefits which will be discussed later in this article. These socks are made with a looser fitting top, or cuff. Those are the main details of diabetic socks that separate them from tradition knit footwear.

So what can you realistically expect from diabetic sock, as a person suffering from diabetes? What health benefits can be gained from the seemingly small differences between these socks and regular socks. Why should you spend the extra money? As I listed earlier, the three main characteristics of diabetic socks are: high quality material, seamless knit, and looser fitting cuff. Having a seamless knit and being made from high quality material make diabetic socks much less likely to wrinkle. These socks are also made to absorb moister. This will help with many diabetic foot issues such as, foot ulcers and blisters. These types of abrasions should be carefully avoided by diabetics as they can lead to more serious infections, which could ultimately lead to amputation, one of the more feared diabetic scenarios. A looser fitting top puts less strain on veins and arteries, this is extremely helpful for proper blood flow to the foot. Diminished blood circulation to the limbs is a very big problem that diabetics face. This in combination with foot ulcers and blisters is something that is a very real problem to a great many people living with diabetes. Those are the main benefits that you could gain from using diabetic socks. Of course there are many different types of these socks and each one has different pros and cons. Later on in the article we will go over a few of the more popular manufacturers of these socks and list a couple examples of what types of diabetic socks are available to you.

Who should consider wearing diabetic socks? You would think that that question would be self explanatory but these socks can be beneficial to a great many people and not just diabetics. You shouldn't necessarily think of diabetic foot wear as a medical accessory. Nor should you think of them as tools to merely help diabetics. These socks are built for superior comfort, moisture protection and to promote increased circulation to the lower leg and foot. This could be very beneficial to anyone who has health issues that effect their feet in a way that could be lessened by the physical benefits of diabetic socks. So as you can see, these socks can be very helpful to not only diabetics but anyone who is suffering from foot related health issues. The name “Diabetic Socks” was only given to them because they were originally designed with diabetics in mind, to help with their most common health problems.

There will be more information about diabetic socks further on in this post but for now we have gone over the basics of diabetic socks. You can now begin making a decision whether or not these socks can be beneficial to your health. Now we will go over a few of the more popular diabetic sock brands so that if you do decide to purchase these socks you will have a better idea of what you are looking for. OK, so aside from smaller manufacturers, the two main producers of these socks are Dr. Scholls Diabetic Socks and Wigwam diabetic socks. Now, chances are that you have heard of Dr. Scholls, they are well known for their foot care products. Wigwam is a bit less well known, although, I assure you that they are one of the largest producers of diabetic socks and other types of medical equipment around. Either one of these companies produce these specialized socks in many shapes, sizes and colors to suit anybodies taste and style.

I know what you are thinking, “Wow these socks are really great but how much are they going to cost me?”. This is a valid question. There is no denying that these medical socks are beneficial to diabetics but are they really worth the price? Throughout this article I has gone over the many benefits of diabetic socks but I have yet to discuss pricing. I assure you that the reason for that isn't that they are ridiculously over priced but merely because I like my writing to be as informative as possible. There isn't really a way to label all types and brands of diabetic socks with one generic price so I will used an example to give you a general idea of how much you are going to have to pay for them. An old saying comes to mine, “You get what you pay for.”, this holds true when making any purchase. If you are one the market for a pair of socks, not necessarily diabetic socks, you have a large choice in front of you. A cheap six pack of plain white crew socks might run you $6 to $8, $12 for a more high-end brand. A nice pair of dress socks can cost anywhere from $8 to $12. A good pair of diabetic socks will cost anywhere from $12 and $18. As you can see diabetic socks don't cost much more than a nice pair of dress socks. So in conclusion diabetic socks are not much more expensive than a good quality pair of regular socks.

So now that you have pretty much all the information you will need to decide whether or not you will purchase a pair of diabetic socks and you have a general idea of how much you are going to have to pay for them, it is now time to discuss where you can go about searching for a place to buy these socks.
The first thing that you should keep in mind when shopping for these types of socks is that, as I said before, you get what you pay for. If you come across a pair of “diabetic socks” for an abnormally low price, the reason is most likely that they are not actually diabetic socks but only being labeled that way in order to attract potential customers. I would also recommend that you do your shopping at a reputable retailer. You will probably be much better of shopping for diabetic socks online as they are not as commonly found in most brick and mortar clothing stores. Most of the online store that you come across will not only have a large variety of diabetic socks in a large array of sizes styles and prices but they will also be likely to list a description of exactly what they differences between them are. This is where you need to do your own research and read all of the descriptions thoroughly. Only then will be able to choose the diabetic socks that are the best for you. You can find these medical clothing store all over the web. You can either choose to search for them in your favorite search engine or search the online giants, such as, Amazon.com and others like it. I would personally recommend visiting Dr. Scholls or Wigwam's websites to see if there are any retailers that they recommenced. This will help ensure that you are purchasing the best quality product for your money.

Choosing which type of diabetic socks are the right ones for you is simply a matter of taste and need. As I said previously you only need to read the descriptions and choose a pair based on what you feel is the best for you. The whole point of this article was to give you a good idea of exactly what diabetic socks are and what type of benefits they can provide for you. I think that we have covered all the bases. Are diabetic socks worth getting? This is something that only you can decide. What is my personal opinion? It is simple really, it's obvious that diabetic socks are not going to preform any miracles. They can only protect your feet as best as a pair socks can from physical problems that are common among diabetics. However, they are not much more expensive then a high-end old fashioned pair of socks. So in conclusion, personally I truly believe that they are a wise choice but ultimately a choice that you need to make for yourself. What is the worse case scenario? You buy a pair of diabetic socks, you have a good quality pair of socks that will last you quite a long time. It is pretty much a no brainer.

I hope that this article has been informative and helped answer any of your questions. What makes these socks so beneficial to diabetics? After all, the specialized socks are a bit more expensive then a regular pair and you want to know that you will be getting your moneys worth.

If you are diabetic then you are probably familiar with the foot related health problems that are associated with the disease. Many diabetics, in extreme cases, will even have to deal with foot problems that could lead to amputation. These are problems that you will want to avoid. In my opinion diabetic socks are merely a tool that can help you to avoid any health issues involving your feet.

One of the biggest health problems that cause diabetics to have such sever issues with their feet is poor blood circulation. Unfortunately, blood flow problems are an unavoidable side effect of having diabetes. Diabetic socks are made specifically so that there will be optimal blood flow to the feet. The better the circulation is to your lower legs and feet the less likely you will be to suffer medical complications.

Diabetic socks are designed to allow the highest level of blood flow to the feet. This means that the are able to stay firmly in place without adding pressure to the calf or ankles. Putting less pressure on the veins will help them produce the highest level of circulation. Diabetic socks can not increase blood flow, they can only keep from adding extra pressure on your veins, something that can occur when wearing traditional socks.

Diabetic socks are made thicker than most socks. This is done specifically to keep your feet warm. Keeping your feet warm can increase sensitivity which can help diabetics in other ways. I will discuss how keeping your feet warm can help you avoid certain medical complications later on in this article. Warm feet can also mean increase circulation which, as discussed before can help keep your feet healthy and help you avoid foot related medical issues.

Many diabetics have sensitivity issues with their feet, this can be a problem because dialectics are also susceptible to blood pool and foot lacerations. These lacerations are not only painful but can also lead to infection which can ultimately lead to amputation, a diabetics worst fear. Keeping your feet warm will increase the feeling in them, which will help keep you aware of anything that could lead to an infection. If you are aware of the problem you can get the proper medical attention so that you can “nip it in the bud”. The extra padding in diabetic socks will help to keep your feet warm and safe all while keeping them comfortable.

The perfect mix of fabrics keep diabetic socks from bunching up, causing friction which can lead to more lacerations and irritation. By keeping the sock wrinkle free, diabetic socks will keep your feet safe from irritation, rash and soars. This is just another example of how diabetics can benefit from wearing diabetic socks.

Some diabetic socks, like Dr Scholls diabetic socks, even come with a special ointment that is woven into the fabric of the socks which can help kill bacteria. This bacteria will not only cause a pungent, unpleasant odor but can also be responsible for turning a simple cut into a more dangerous foot infection.

Although, Dr Scholls is one of the most popular diabetic sock manufacturer, there a great many companies who produce these types of medical socks. One of the best ways to make sure that you are getting a good product at a great price is to do a little research. Use the internet and look up a few brands, check out some diabetic sock reviews and compare some prices.

So what's the bottom line on diabetic socks? They are essentially an extremely high quality, well made pair of socks that were made with diabetics in mind. These socks are made to help deal with many of the issues that diabetics will deal with. In my opinion they are well worth a little bit of extra money. Unlike many other types of socks, diabetic socks will last for quite a long time as they are made much more sturdily. If you are still on the fence about whether or not diabetic socks are right for you, there is only one way for you to find out. Make the leap and try a pair of diabetic socks for yourself. The worst case scenario is that after making the purchase, you have a very good pair of socks. The best case scenario is that you have a great pair of socks that can help you with the unfortunate issues you may be facing due to your disease.

Dr. Scholl's Men's Diabetic Socks

The Dr. Scholl's Men’s Diabetes and Circulatory Health Crew Sock is the diabetic sock pick of the week. Is there a difference or would it just be a waste to spend the extra money?

If you have diabetes than you know that one of the many issues that this disease can cause revolve around you feet. Diabetes can decrease blood flow and circulation to your feet, this can cause a number of problems. Diabetics are prone to painful foot ulcers and, if circulation is extremely poor, maybe also need to have toes, or even an entire foot amputated.

Essentially, diabetic socks are made to address problems specific to diabetes sufferers. Diabetic socks will help control moisture, this will keep your feet dry and warm , reducing the risk of infection and helping with blood flow. These socks have a looser fitting top, this will stop the sock from applying too much pressure on the calf, allowing for superior blood flow. Wrinkle free fabric will aid in reducing blisters and skin irritation which often severely affect people with diabetes.

So basically, diabetic socks are not a cure-all for diabetes. They will not cure or completely prevent the many diabetic complications associated with the foot. They are, however, a superior sock, specificity designed to address issues that diabetics often have with their feet.

If you are interested in trying diabetic socks to see if they work for you, there are a great many companies produce these products, Dr Scholls diabetic socks, Wigwam diabetic socks, the list goes on...

Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for http://buydiabeticsocks.blogspot.com/

If you require any more information or have any questions about our privacy policy, please feel free to contact us by email at diabeticsockss@yahoo.com.

At http://buydiabeticsocks.blogspot.com/, the privacy of our visitors is of extreme importance to us.
